TendaHoof™
FX
High
starch diets can lead to a build up of damaging lactic acid in
the rumen which may lead to acidosis and an increased incidence of
lameness. TendaHoof™ FX is designed
to
encourage the development of a beneficial rumen microflora and the
maintenance
of a stable rumen pH. Improved rumen stability aids feed digestibility
and
promotes improved productivity. A readily available form of zinc
contributes to
tissue repair in the hoof and udder.
Simple
procedures to help reduce lameness:
Ø
Regular
hoof assessment
Ø
Preventative
hoof trimming of problem cows
Ø
Record
keeping of problem cows and implementation of herd health action plan
Ø
Effective
hoof bathing using TendaHoof™ Solution (25:1)
Ø
Spray
problem cows in parlour for 6 consecutive milkings with
TendaHoof™ Solution
(10:1)
Ø
TendaHoof™
FX is easily incorporated into the TMR through a mixer wagon, mobile
feed mixer
or on farm mixer.
Ø
Reduce
incidence of nutritionally induced lameness through use of
TendaHoof™ FX in feed
1 sachet per 100 cows per day

When fed
to dairy cows TendaHoof™ FX increases feed intakes, improves
milk yield and improves milk quality.
Trials have shown that:
- TendaHoof™
FX has a positive effect
on ruminal pH in conditions where animals are fed a high starch/ sugar
diet or a highly digestible diet, increasing microbial efficiency in
the gut.
- This increase in pH and
microbial efficiency may result in improved milk yield and milk quality
with less body condition loss
- TendaHoof™
FX limits rumen N
degradation of protein sources. This can result in a better supply of
amino-acids available at the intestinal level, leading to increased
productive performance in dairy cows.
- TendaHoof™ FX fed
cows show an improvement in keratin production which means that teat
end closure is quicker, with more effective udder and hoof tissue
repair. Somatic Cell Counts are typically reduced by 20%.
- When feeding
TendaHoof™ FX reductions in sole ulcers, sole haemorrages, white
line separation and digital dermatitis.
- Earlier lactation
peaks, reduced incidence of acidosis, lameness and cud spilling.
